Cambridge Memorial Hospital Reports Enteric Outbreak

Enteric Outbreak on Wing B, Level 4, Medicine A Unit

Cambridge, Ontario – Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in consultation with the Region of Waterloo Public Health, declared an enteric outbreak on Wing B, Level 4, Medicine A Unit on November 30. As a result of this declaration, visitor restrictions of one visitor per patient is in effect immediately and will continue until the there are no new cases for five days. The symptoms for this illness include vomiting and diarrhea. At this time, the outbreak has impacted patients.

Signage has been posted at entrances and on the Medicine A Unit. Cleaning and disinfection of the environment has been enhanced in this area, and precautions have been implemented for staff and volunteers. CMH encourages those feeling unwell to not visit their loved ones in hospital.
